Dear Dad,
What's happening on your end these days? I have heard that its been rather busy.

I thought I might go over a few details of what I've been staying busy with since February, when I saw you last' at the County Jail in Houston.

I arrived at Rankin County on February 28th, this is a stop-over facility designed to process and route inmates within 10-45 days to their new homes within M.D.O.C. through a system of tests and interviews designed to best locate a program of education and rehabilitation so that an inmate will make the best use of his/her time inside and not return but be able to go back to society a better citizen than they arrived.

Through some great mix-up I ended up staying 120 days in Rankin instead of the normal 10-45, however I made the best use of my situation by having some books sent in, which I must credit Jane, (Cameron's Sister "Jane Todd-Williams") with keeping me amply supplied with, and setting up a rigid schedule for myself and some of the other inmates that covered daily Bible devotions, Spanish Language class, Real Estate investment ideas, Korean Language, Repairing your credit, Origami, Christian Self-Defense, and Art; having no idea what God had in store for me down the road but knowing all the while I was part of his plan.

One of the sources of great discouragement at Rankin county are the daily routine inspections which gave the guards an open invitation to search to through your belongings scatter them all over the place and tear up your bed and/or physically assault you or, at the very least, to verbally humiliate you and make it known to the entire squad that the collective punishment they would be receiving was all your fault, so that you would be assaulted by any one of 105 inmates through out the day and night.

Satan tried to use this device against me daily, however God prevailed when we started a routine inspection of our own, military style, everyday at 4:30 in the morning. At first there were grumblings but after a few days all the "troops" as I called them were in top shape and passed inspection easily.  They were not punished any more and they celebrated their good fortune.  After that the LT asked everyone who was responsible for helping everyone pass inspection but they never turned me in.  Helping another prisoner in anyway was an excuse for punishment that could have gotten me locked down in solitary, but that's a risk you just have to take sometimes.

It seems strange to look back on it now, but everyone at that facility was aware of my prior law enforcement background and my charges an yet they pulled together like a big family and would let no harm come to me, in any way.

I remember when the D.A. Jim Hood was threatening me and trying to intimidate me into a confession so long ago, when he said, "you won't make it on the inside, someone will stab or kill you."  How little does he know God has it all in his hands.  I had heard a story about Holly Springs and a program they had which included daily Bible study, discipline and group training sort of like the military- complete with marching parade style drills etc.. Sort of like a boot-camp for God with the King James Bible being the focus.  I sent off many letters to the classification committee and with the help of friends like Allie Martin, Randy Langly and of course Jane, I was transferred here, to C-1 Bible College.  It is truly a dream from above.

We have morning activities, which include the pledge of allegiance, Bible recitation, devotions, and then individual study times through which we acquire grades, report cards and everything a normal college would have, however, we are still inside and miss our family.  There are degrees available here through this program which are certified through the world which include, associate, bachelor, masters, and doctorate degrees. My Art teacher is serving life without parole and has been incarcerated 10 years already, however, you will see by some of his work, it hasn't entirely kept him down.

I am focusing on keeping my grades up above 90%, working on my three R's, and studying art, from Roger Rice, trying to regain my youthful physical conditioning through the diet management and exercise program and trying to keep my mind alert through scripture memorization.  We have boots to shine, marching and structure but over-all there are 64 other people here in this pod that act like people who have a mission greater than themselves, to perform for God, when they get out.  I am proud to say that the Warden here deserves a well-earned compliment for establishing this Bible College program, which I believe has been in place for about 5 years.

Please inform those that are interested in my case that although most of my supplies are furnished; due to the program requirements there are some things that I must buy here and my funds are limited. I will need such things as colored pencils, regular pencils, notebooks, batteries, a headset for listening to the training tapes; this his how we are able to hear the professor's lectures in the Seminary classes.

Personal hygiene items are a must as we are looked on to be the elite unit of the compound and exemplary dress, speech, and appearance must be maintained.

I have a great desire to visit with Suk-Hee and Donnie as soon as possible, as well as everyone of you of course.

Please keep everyone out there informed that, like Paul, I have learned to be content with any circumstance, however  freedom is never far from my mind.  The thought that if they can lie and deceive the public into believing I'm guilty of this crime and sentence me to 12 years is somehow in my mind not possible, however, maybe through my experience others might be spared this Witch-hunt of justice.

Well, I simply wanted to catch everyone up on my situation and let you know that God has it all now in his hands and to him be the glory.  Please tell everyone that I love them and help them to understand there is always a way through Christ.
                                                                                        Bye for now.
