AFFIDAVIT

Personally came and appeared before me, the undersigned authority, within Chickasaw County, Mississippi, the undersigned, Timmy Lynn Hester, of Houlka. Mississippi, who being first Duly  sworn stated under oath as fellows:

"My name is Timmy Lynn Hester, an adult resident of Chickasaw County, Mississippi, residing at Houlka,  Mississippi.

On December 9, 2001, I traveled to Houston, Mississippi, to visit a friend at the jail and, upon arrival, I saw Cameron Todd, former police officer, and I volunteered to give a statement on his behalf concerning a statement  I had recently given. In the previous statement, I had told investigators that I did prepare a letter from E.K. (Name excised) by tracing from her writing.

I did not trace or make, a statement, as previously indicated,  but I falsely gave this information to investigating officers  because I was told if I didn't my brother would be charged with additional crimes and get more time added to his sentence.

At the time I talked with the investigators and gave the false statement, I was taking illegal drugs arid pain killers which I had borrowed from a friend."

WITNESS MY SIGNATURE,  this ___ day of December 2001."

My Commission Expires:________
The Hester Retraction
NOTE:
When District Attorney, Jim Hood, was desperate to discredit the written retraction of the charges made by the original accuser in this case he persuaded Timmy Lynn Hester to commit perjury by "confessing" that the retraction letter was his forgery. The Judge was willing to take the false testimony at face value despite expert testimony to the effect that it was not possible that the document was forged. The Jury was never allowed to see the letter or hear any testimony concerning it. This is an affidavit from Timmy taken after the trial.
