The Anders Enigma
Jimmy Anders is currently in prison. I am not well informed as to why he is there but he sent this statement to me and asked that I bring it to the attention of the public as widely as possible. I have made no changes in his text except to delete the name of the girl who made the accusations and to substitute initials. She is still a minor and her identity is protected by law. Jimmy testified at Cameron's first trial and was very helpful to the defense.

To Whom It May Concern:
For Immediate Release:
From: Jimmy Anders

My name is Jimmy Anders. I was raised in and around Calhoun Co. Miss. Since my early teenage years. I have met and known a great deal of people and have most of my family in that area.

I have had no trouble with the law until recently when D.A. Jim Hood decided to make my life a living hell simply because I testified truthfully in a case involving former police officer Cameron Todd.

I was called to tell an account of a false charge brought on me by E. K., a girl who has been telling lies and putting relatives and whoever else in prison for alleged sexual abuse since an early age. She had come to see my mother and was staying overnight at my house. She repeatedly asked me to join in a game of truth-or-dare, I refused. She became angry and said she would make me pay, soon after, I was charged with Capitol rape, and jailed in Houston city jail where Cameron Todd worked. Mr. Todd objected to my being charged based only on this girl's testimony since it was common knowledge that she had made many false charges on various other people. No one wanted to listen. I was arrested and released four days later, I lost my job, my name was put in the paper on charges of Capitol rape, The day I went to court, charges against me were dropped, she admitted she had lied. They never put that in the paper, for weeks, even months later people would talk about me and destroy my reputation. I still have not fully recovered from this. I had to go through all of this because social workers wanted to believe a very disturbed teenage girl.

Social workers should have considered her past of mental instability before ever considering pressing charges that carry the death sentence in MS. However, in Chickasaw County that's simply not how it works. You are guilty until proven innocent, and that has got to change.

Soon after this I learned that this same girl had lied about these same kind of charges against Officer Todd, simply to get out of trouble for burning a trailer house, which she admitted to doing so. She had been taught from an early age, simply accuse someone else and they will let you go, and sure enough, they did.

Jim Hood was so eager to get a reputation that would further his career, that he charged many people with these same sex crimes, even when he knew that they were all innocent.

I testified for officer Todd in his first trial and it ended in a mistrial. This absolutely angered D.A. Jim Hood, as a result most of the people charged were dismissed or let go.

I have been hunted and harassed by various law enforcement officers for three years. Recently I was convicted of a multi-count uttering forgery charge. I received ten years on each charge, I had 5 charges, that totaled up to 50 years. And then 5 years on parole. It was my first offense and now I'm labeled as a habitual offender. I done a study and most people in my county were given probation for more account of attempted forgery.

The sheriffs office gave me a recommendation for 3 years probation, but when I went to court, the D.A. Jim Hood told my lawyer that and I quote "because he hurt me in the Cameron Todd case he will go to prison". This, to me, is simply unjust. This kind of justice has to stop. Chickasaw County, and Calhoun County has to do something about Jim Hood. There are a lot of people who have been wrongly accused in these counties by Jim Hood.

This needs to stop. I will not stop until every news agency in this nation knows about this man's corruption.

People need to stop and consider, this man will do anything it takes to further his career at the cost of others. Stand up and shout if you want to help make a very needed change.

Sincerely,

Jimmy Anders
